Ruby Reborn
Last Christmas, I was looking for somthing to give Ben who has had a lot of interest in the garden railway and live steam. I purchased a Ruby from Carl with all the fixin's.
Ben liked his Christmas present so much he took it out that morning and ran it then proceeded to tear it apart!
We took it apart down to the frame. We added a new cab floor, trailing truck and tender. we built a wooden cab and a new smokebox. we added a headlight, pilot and running boards. Ben did much of the planning and did a lot of the work himself, running the lathe and drilling holes. He built the cab.
The Goal was to make it look as much like WW&F #10 as possible.
