John and Gigi Jackson hosted the second Open House of the season on Saturday, June 26, at their home in North Yarmouth. More than two dozen MGRS members came to see John's new addition to the Littleville Falls Railroad. The railroad now runs from a basement layout (featured in the November 2009 Iron Horse) to an outdoor patio. No heavy lifting required to bring the trains inside--just run them through the window.



Gigi prepared a feast for MGRS members, assisted by the Jackson's children and grandchildren. A great time was had by all. Look for more on John's clever electronics in an upcoming issue of the Iron Horse.

 The Model Train Village has been part of the Northern Lights celebration at L.L. Bean for several years. The full program can be seen at the  Northern Lights Web Page .  Trains run 9am-9pm from November 15 through January 1. It is located in the Camping Department and can be seen from both inside and outside the store. Model Train Village and window to downtown Freeport It has three trains that run on timers along with lights, skating rinks, a model of the L.L. Bean Store in the 1930s-1940s, and a model of the Freeport Train Station which is now at Boothbay Railway Village. The Maine3Railers O-Gauge Model Railroad Club built and operates this layout.
