Doug and Dan Johnson running trains at the Maine Mall Display.







Today it was Doug and Dan Johnson who teamed up to take a turn at operating the MGRS train display at the Maine Mall.   They look like they are having a good time and we appreciate their doing a great job and their willingness to help out.  


Here is a picture of the Hi Def Television which looks great from Carl's new video camera.  People get a great view of the layout in action as they are waiting to see Santa!  


Five trains can  run at the same time, which provides a lot of action.  Here is a picture of our new sound car.   It may need a slight adjustment as it does not seem loud enough.  Santa Claus probably thinks it is perfect, especially as it  passes by close to him.  He does have a very nice "Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas".

 The Model Train Village has been part of the Northern Lights celebration at L.L. Bean for several years. The full program can be seen at the  Northern Lights Web Page .  Trains run 9am-9pm from November 15 through January 1. It is located in the Camping Department and can be seen from both inside and outside the store. Model Train Village and window to downtown Freeport It has three trains that run on timers along with lights, skating rinks, a model of the L.L. Bean Store in the 1930s-1940s, and a model of the Freeport Train Station which is now at Boothbay Railway Village. The Maine3Railers O-Gauge Model Railroad Club built and operates this layout.
