The Doppler Effect



I was searching old posts and ran across this one.  I love the sound of the Southern Crescent steam locomotive that Carl had at the Mall.  It is also a great example of the "Doppler effect" you may remember from science class.  I reposted this link to pictures and video from that day at the mall.  Click here and then select Slideshow

 The Model Train Village has been part of the Northern Lights celebration at L.L. Bean for several years. The full program can be seen at the  Northern Lights Web Page .  Trains run 9am-9pm from November 15 through January 1. It is located in the Camping Department and can be seen from both inside and outside the store. Model Train Village and window to downtown Freeport It has three trains that run on timers along with lights, skating rinks, a model of the L.L. Bean Store in the 1930s-1940s, and a model of the Freeport Train Station which is now at Boothbay Railway Village. The Maine3Railers O-Gauge Model Railroad Club built and operates this layout.
