I enjoyed being outside in the sunshine today.  It was windy but no problem running trains.  Good day for 'puttering around'.   I was admiring the flowers and decided to take the little 'people' from inside that sell flowers on the corner and bring them outside.  (You have to look real close).  It is to bad that the real flowers do not last longer but we have a whole summer to enjoy different varieties.  If you have a picture of your favorite items in bloom, email them to me and I will post them.  The Model Train Village has been part of the Northern Lights celebration at L.L. Bean for several years. The full program can be seen at the  Northern Lights Web Page .  Trains run 9am-9pm from November 15 through January 1. It is located in the Camping Department and can be seen from both inside and outside the store. Model Train Village and window to downtown Freeport It has three trains that run on timers along with lights, skating rinks, a model of the L.L. Bean Store in the 1930s-1940s, and a model of the Freeport Train Station which is now at Boothbay Railway Village. The Maine3Railers O-Gauge Model Railroad Club built and operates this layout.
