Scott's new BR 64 from PIKO







  Scott loves his G scale European styled locomotives.  Especially the big steam engines LGB has produced.  Well now a new G scale leader is emerging and becoming very popular here in America.  It is PIKO which also manufactures its products in Germany.  Carl Churchill is a PIKO dealer and Scott got his new BR 64 a short time ago.  I was lucky enough to have Scott bring it over to my layout for its first run around my indoor loop.  It ran great.  What a beautiful engine! It looks good pulling those European coaches which Scott found and told us about last year. The quick video does not do it justice but take a look:  Click here:

 The Model Train Village has been part of the Northern Lights celebration at L.L. Bean for several years. The full program can be seen at the  Northern Lights Web Page .  Trains run 9am-9pm from November 15 through January 1. It is located in the Camping Department and can be seen from both inside and outside the store. Model Train Village and window to downtown Freeport It has three trains that run on timers along with lights, skating rinks, a model of the L.L. Bean Store in the 1930s-1940s, and a model of the Freeport Train Station which is now at Boothbay Railway Village. The Maine3Railers O-Gauge Model Railroad Club built and operates this layout.
