Montreal Golden Chariot

Today's Portland Press Herald has an informative article on page B3 about the upcoming 75th anniversary celebration at the Seashore Trolley Museum.  Featured in the article is the 1906 Montreal "Golden Chariot," which will be dedicated at the Founders Day celebration on July 5.  Completion of this magnificent open-air trolley has been shepherded by Seashore director (and MGRS member) Dick Rubin, who remembers riding the trolley as a child.  Congratulations to Dick and the Trolley Museum.  We're all invited to the dedication on July 5th.

 The Model Train Village has been part of the Northern Lights celebration at L.L. Bean for several years. The full program can be seen at the  Northern Lights Web Page .  Trains run 9am-9pm from November 15 through January 1. It is located in the Camping Department and can be seen from both inside and outside the store. Model Train Village and window to downtown Freeport It has three trains that run on timers along with lights, skating rinks, a model of the L.L. Bean Store in the 1930s-1940s, and a model of the Freeport Train Station which is now at Boothbay Railway Village. The Maine3Railers O-Gauge Model Railroad Club built and operates this layout.
