Please Sign Up to Help at the Mall

We need your help to run the trains. Please sign up to cover any of the Open shifts that need staff or be the 2nd person on a shift. It takes two people to operate the trains, fix minor problems, and talk to our visitors.



The following shifts need your help, and its still fun for children of all ages. You can sign up via the blog or call Sam at 865-4467 to schedule your time. The easiest way to see the available times is to go to the blog, click on the SIGNUP button, and the click on AGENDA to see who is working each day.

L.L. Bean Model Train Village Christmas 2022

 The Model Train Village has been part of the Northern Lights celebration at L.L. Bean for several years. The full program can be seen at the  Northern Lights Web Page .  Trains run 9am-9pm from November 15 through January 1. It is located in the Camping Department and can be seen from both inside and outside the store. Model Train Village and window to downtown Freeport It has three trains that run on timers along with lights, skating rinks, a model of the L.L. Bean Store in the 1930s-1940s, and a model of the Freeport Train Station which is now at Boothbay Railway Village. The Maine3Railers O-Gauge Model Railroad Club built and operates this layout.
